No Gi BJJ in Baltimore

What You Will Learn

No-GI classes are for adults of all skill levels. Students will learn fundamental and advanced techniques or submission grappling including takedowns, leglocks, guard play and guard passing.

All students must wear a clean rashguard and training shorts/spats.

Fluidity and Speed

No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is known for its fast-paced and dynamic nature. Practitioners focus on smooth transitions, quick submissions, and agile movement. The absence of the gi allows for a more fluid and rapid exchange of positions.

Grip Fighting and Control

Without the traditional gi grips, practitioners of No-Gi BJJ develop strong grip fighting skills to control their opponents. They rely on wrist control, collar ties, and underhooks to establish control and create openings for attacks or positional advancements.

Body Control and Pressure

No-Gi BJJ places a greater emphasis on body control and pressure. Practitioners use their own body weight, leverage, and positional dominance to control and manipulate their opponents. Applying pressure, utilizing strong base, and maintaining proper body positioning become crucial aspects of No-Gi BJJ.
